Mission Proxima

November 17, 2016 Leave a comment Go to comments

Today I’m super excited and anxious but mainly excited because at 9:20 pm (16:20 CET; 20:20 GMT), the Soyuz spacecraft will launch from Baikonur with on board Thomas Pesquet, a European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut of French nbig_smile-64ationality. He will spend 6 months in the International Space Station. His mission includes more than 50 experiments for ESA and France’s CNES space agency.

You can find a lot of interesting information and detailed videos about this launch day on this page. You can listen to the music Thomas has selected to listen to for the two hours spent in the spacecraft while the fuel is loading.

And of course, you can watch live on the Internet the launch of the Soyuz rocket/spacecraft here. Unfortunately at 9:20pm, I’ll be online, playing on World of Warcraft but I’ll find a way to watch the launch while playing… It won’t be easy… but I don’t want to miss this big event.
